Tips For Success

This steak recipe is really a no brainer, but we do have a few tips that will ensure your flank steak turns out super delicious!

  • Start with a large flank steak: For this recipe, you’re going to want to buy a large, 2 to 2 1/2 pound (even 3 pound) flank steak. The steak will shrink after cooking (as you can see in the process photos) so for a hearty, 4 person serving you’ll need a larger cut of meat.
  • Slice against the grain: Don’t try and shred the steak like you would a slow cooker pot roast. Slice against the grain and then you can break up into smaller pieces if desired for sandwiches, tacos, etc.
  • Season properly: Do make sure to add enough seasoning to both sides of the meat. 2 tablespoons is an estimate, depending on how big your steak is. Just make sure there is a decent coating on both sides.

How To Serve

You can slice the steak like you see in our photos here and serve it with a baked potato or mashed potatoes on the side. Your choice of carb is obviously fine as well…Grab some vegetables and/or a nice salad to round out the meal!

In addition to that, you can use this steak for meal prepping your favorite recipes! Try using it in as a short cut in this cheesy steak sandwich or chop it up and use it in this crazy good fried rice recipe. Or swap out the chicken and make our ultimate quesadillas with steak instead!
